Joelle is a Senior Designer working for IBM Security Services. At the heart of the organization is a highly complex, multi component platform that services thousands of customers. Advancing the usability and intuitiveness of the experience across the various subsystems leading to quicker execution is core to Joelle’s mission. Within this capacity she fulfills an essential mission to the organization. She has deep expertise and talent in both research and design but a big added bonus is that she also functions as a global team lead, helping to knit the team’s efforts together and mentoring/providing essential guidance to newer UX designers and researchers. Joelle certainly fits as a senior designer but is also ready to formally lead as a Senior Manager or Director of UX research and/or design.

Joelle is an exceptional individual, who ticks all the right boxes in terms of skills, engagement and organization of work. Always prepared and professional. Fast-paced and high-performing are definitely phrases that come to mind when I think of her.

Amongst several different assignments we worked on together at IBM Security Services, I had the opportunity to be a part of a project led by Joelle, when I could observe her organizational and management skills. She kept her hand on a pulse and knew the exact status of the work being done. She seamlessly navigated between all of the team’s tasks and shared descriptive and balanced feedback. Her leadership led to the completion of the project on time and above expectations.

Joelle is also a great teammate, always eager to help and share her knowledge with less experienced co-workers. She cares about her colleagues succeeding in their work. Her input added value to our teammates’ work and elevated their skillset.

I had the opportunity to work closely with Joelle on a small team for almost a year. During that time, Joelle was also working as the solo UX designer on two other projects, as well as working with the senior UX Designer/Researcher to conduct UX research across the company, and creating user research documentation and templates. Joelle was able to juggle all of these responsibilities and still meet all of her commitments, all while never appearing stressed or overwhelmed.

Joelle has a natural knack for connecting with people, which helps during her interviews and research with external and internal users. This ability to connect with people also made her a great team member on our project. While always being the consummate professional with her work, Joelle also genuinely cares about people, and her calm and friendly demeanor make her a pleasure to work with. Joelle greatly contributed to the cohesiveness of our team.

While working at FINRA, I had the privilege of working alongside a one-of-a-kind UX Designer. Joelle brought a strong work ethic and intuitive design approach that provided an immediate impact on the product team.

Joelle is a visionary UX and Information Architecture professional, who might one day redefine user experience.

She is always keeping up to date on industry trends. She has a knack for predicting the future of the direction in which trends are going in tech. Her ability to see what the new norms will become, before they happen, is truly uncanny. Joelle is incredibly socially intuitive, and she always seems to know the right thing to say, to a coworker, or to a client.

In addition to having communication skills that are second to none, she is an excellent collaborator. She is always looking to share her knowledge and work together in order to find the most efficient processes in order to meet or exceed deadlines.

In her first few months as a User Experience professional, Joelle impressed with her tenacity to rapidly get up to speed and make valuable contributions to her team.
